Welcome!
LOEX-of-the-West will be hosted by Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta, from June 10-12, 2010.
We invite you to transcend the borders between types of libraries, between disciplines, between librarians and teaching faculty, even between librarians and administrators. Expand the frontiers of instruction to include ESL students, Native students, students with disabilities, distance education students, senior and grad students, and even people who aren’t students, in information literacy initiatives. New techniques and new technologies help us explore new territory in the classroom, in virtual space, and wherever else our students may be by 2010!
Getting here: Calgary International Airport is a major hub, easily reached by flights by all major airlines. It’s also a beautiful drive from Idaho, Washington, or Montana, as well as the Western provinces.
Staying here: We have new apartment-style residences located on our beautiful campus. There are also many hotels within convenient driving distance, and public transit serves both downtown and the campus.
Presenting/attending session here: We have an onsite conference facility with both large and small meeting rooms, fully equipped for technical set-ups. Wireless internet is available throughout the building. There is also a 40-seat lab available for hands-on sessions.
