Audio-visual equipment

  • Students studying with laptopsAudio-visual equipment is available to faculty, staff and students of Mount Royal University.
  • Regular classrooms are equipped with overhead projector and screen.
  • All equipment must be picked up and returned to the Library Service Desk

Booking equipment and DVDs / videos

  • Students, Faculty and Staff - Contact the Library Service Desk at libcirc@mtroyal.ca or 403.440.6019 to book equipment or audio-visual materials. Please give 48 hours notice to ensure availability
    • Equipment - Include the following in your email: 
      • Equipment needed
      • Date/time of pick up and return
      • Other relevant information
    • DVDs / videos - Include the following in your email:
      • Equipment needed
      • Title and call number of video 
      • Dates of pick up and return (no longer than one week)
      • If you are requesting U of Calgary video please include that information
         
  • Equipment and DVDs/videos can also be booked through LibrarySearch

Guidelines for borrowing A/V equipment

  • Audio-visual equipment is loaned to anyone involved in the teaching and learning activities of Mount Royal University
  • Community Borrowers have the option to borrow audio equipment to compliment an approved Audio Production Room booking
  • Students must present a valid student I.D. card to borrow equipment
  • Equipment loan periods vary to accommodate demands
  • Please cancel unneeded bookings

Films in the classroom

  • Faculty and instructors are free to show VHS, DVD and Blu-Ray videos to students in the classroom, provided the video is being shown for an educational purpose
    • This use does not have to be recorded or reported
  • Videos from online video sites such as YouTube may also be shown in the classroom; however, videos which are obviously infringing or pirated copies should be avoided
  • If you would like to show videos for something other than an educational purpose, please visit the Copyright page for more information

Fines

  • DVDs / videos - replacement costs are charged for damage or loss
  • Equipment - Fines are charged for the late return of any A/V equipment
    • replacement costs are charged for damaged or lost equipment

Equipment for loan

Students may borrow laptops for 1 day or 3 days. These are signed out on a first come, first served basis. Late fines are $5/hour.

Faculty and Staff may book laptops in advance.

All laptops are loaded with standard university software. We also have:

  • Vuze - 2 laptops with 360 room software installed.
  • Kinova - 5 laptops with Kinova software installed.

Each set of 42 iClickers to provide interactive classroom instruction. Faculty can receive training from ADC
