Ideas Visualization Lounge

What is the Ideas Visualization Lounge?

This presentation and gathering space is designed to invigorate conversation, spark ideas, and advance the creation of new knowledge.

Located on the first floor, the Ideas Visualization Lounge is an exciting event and presentation space, designed to support Library and campus programming with public lectures, presentations, workshops and other interactive events. The state-of-the-art interactive visualization wall is ideal for large-scale displays to augment events and programs.  The Ideas Visualization Lounge is also an exciting new teaching, learning and research space enabling unique exploration and deep understanding of information (text, data, video, image, etc.) across all subject areas. The large-scale display, along with an enhanced sound system and recording and streaming capabilities, creates a special experiential learning experience in an engaging public setting.

The Visualization Classroom provides access to the same technology in a more “standard” classroom setting.

The Ideas Visualization Lounge can be booked for special events, workshops, teaching or research purposes. Faculty, staff, community members and students can request to book this space.

Capacity - approximately 45

The Ideas Visualization Lounge contains a wall-sized (7m x 3m) visualization monitor. This touch enabled and interactive high resolution display can be used to view and manipulate large amounts of information (images, data, text, video, etc.) at one time in a single display, or to view and display multiple channels of content over smaller segmented or ‘split’ screens.  A specialized sound system allows for an enhanced experience and facilitates the streaming and recording of events.
