Delivering a lecture in the Visualization Lounge greatly enhanced the experience of my GNED 1404: Writing About Images class. Since analyzing images necessarily forms a critical part of this course, the ability to analyze an image blown up to near life size--we were analyzing Gericault's The Raft of the Medusa (5 metres high by 7 metres wide)--allowed students to pick out fine details that they would otherwise have missed. The open space of the room and the plentiful natural light were also a welcome change from the confines of a regular classroom.
