Mount Royal Open Access Repository

The Mount Royal Open Access Repository (MROAR) is a digital showcase of the scholarship, research, and intellectual contributions of the Mount Royal University community. We aim to collect, preserve, promote, and provide free and open access to these resources for researchers and learners everywhere. For more information, including frequently asked questions and the repository terms of use, please view the repository online.

The repository is built on Islandora, a Canadian-developed open-source platform used at over 100 public and private institutions worldwide. This shared platform provides post-secondary institutions with open-access repositories for research, theses, and any other digital assets they wish to make available to the wider community.

Our Collections

The repository is organized by collections that reflect the organizational structure of the academic units of the University. The major collections include:

Some collections use subcollections for additional organization.

Arca

Our repository is part of the Arca collaborative, supporting the development and implementation of digital repositories at Western Canadian post-secondary institutions. Together we provide access to faculty and student research output across multiple post-secondary institutions via a cross-repository search layer, support the management of institutional digital assets, and showcase these contributions as a hub for knowledge creation across Canada and around the world.
