Retirees who are unable to request via the online form can email their requests to:

Please include your 9-digit MRU ID number and full citation information when submitting requests via email.

Copy requests must follow the fair dealing exception of the MRU Fair Dealing guidelines and any additional exceptions in the Copyright Act.

Notifications

All notifications will be sent to your MRU email account. Users will receive an email confirmation when a request is placed and notification when the item arrives. (Copy requests will be sent digitally, loan requests will be available for pick-up from the Service Desk.)

Check your spam/junk folder if you do not receive any email confirmations and notifications.

Delivery

Due to the current Canada Post strike, there will be disruptions and delays in ILL services at MRU Library. If you are an MRU user and have recently submitted a request for an ILL item, library staff will be in contact with alternate options as needed.

Delivery times can vary from two business days to over three weeks. Delivery time depends on the type of request and shipping method.

Copies of articles and book chapters are delivered electronically whenever possible. The link will be active for 5 downloads and 14 days; it is recommended that you save or print a copy of the PDF.

Loans, Renewals
and Returns

The due date is noted on the book band. Return ILL materials to the Service Desk, on or before the due date as overdue fines will apply.

Renewals are not automatic; we must ask the lending library if they will permit the renewal. Allow 2-3 business days to communicate with the lending library. MRU ILL will pursue 1 renewal per request.

If you no longer need the interlibrary loan item you requested, please inform the ILL department via email. Otherwise, ILLs not picked up will be subject to a $5 service fee. See Loans and fines for more information.
